#1. You aren’t seeing conversions
Whether you want sign-ups for your newsletter, discovery calls booked, or contact forms filled out, if your prospects aren’t taking those desired actions, you aren’t converting as well as you’d like. As a conversion copywriter, I’ve seen the power of website copy. More often than not, it’s the only thing you need to change to start seeing more conversions.
Perhaps your copy doesn’t have enough clear calls to action or the benefits of your services aren’t made obvious. Maybe the tone of the copy doesn’t resonate with your ideal client or their pain points aren’t being agitated enough. One of your website copy’s main jobs is to get rid of your prospects’ hesitations and unanswered questions about your services. If your copy isn’t doing this, they may be asking you tons of questions on calls. If this is the case, make a note of their questions and hesitations regarding your services. Then, identify common patterns and address these issues in your copy so that they’ll be totally on board by the time they’re done scrolling.
#3. You hate the copy
If you hate your website copy, it’s time for a revamp. It’s as simple as that. Chances are, when you give your copy a makeover and end up liking it more, so will readers, and you’ll start seeing more conversions. Double win!
#4. You’re generating leads, but they aren’t qualified
You may be generating leads, but they aren’t necessarily your dream clients. Your copy is converting, but your brand messaging may be off – it’s likely just catering to a different target market than the one you’re aiming for. This often requires in-depth market research & getting in the heads of your dream clients so that you can cater your copy toward their desires the whole way through.
